Alexander D'Agostino died Aug. 21, 2010, in Norwalk Hospital.

Known as Sandy to his family, he was born Oct. 27, 1955. to the late Colombo and Jessie (Lanteri) D'Agostino in New York City.

He was raised and educated in Yonkers, N.Y., before moving to Westport in 1990. He later moved to Norwalk. He began his career as an executive recruiter at Weatherby Healthcare in 1986 and later went on to Teed & Co. where he was working at the time of his death. He enjoyed boating on the Long Island Sound, fly-fishing, golf, vacationing by the ocean and time spent with his two children.

He is survived by a daughter Jessica and son Thomas of Westport; a sister, Maryellen Mix (Barry) of New Milford; two brothers Stephen (Pam) of Leonardo, N.J., and Peter (Denise) of Somers, N.Y.; two nieces, Alexandria and Lauren; five nephews, Kenneth, Jason, Scott, Jeffrey and Nicholas, and life partner, Denise Gagne. He also is survived by his ex-wife, Ellen DeHuff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Norwalk. Burial will follow at the Willowbrook Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to World Teach, through which his daughter plans to teach a year in Costa Rica.
