Agnes Ella Chapman

Agnes Ella (Wishart) Chapman, 90, of Southbury and former resident of the Westport-Weston area, died July 16 at home. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Chapman.
Born May 26, 1921, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late James and Jane (Bennett) Wishart. She lived in Southbury for the past 14 years, and previously resided in Roxbury and the Westport-Weston areas many years. She was a volunteer at the Glebe House in Woodbury, a docent at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport and a master gardener. She was a member of the River Garden Club at Heritage Village, enjoyed opera and was an animal lover.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara J. Chapman of Southbury; a son, Peter R. Chapman of Bedford, Mass.; a sister, Margaret W. Ramsey and her husband, the Rev. Thomas Ramsey of Chambly, Quebec, Canada; three granddaughters, Danya J. Lett, and Caitlin and Kelsey Chapman; a great-granddaughter, Layla Jane Larzalere; a niece, Alison Ramsey, and a nephew, David Ramsey.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.
