The following activities are planned this week by the Westport Center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Ave.
Wednesday, April 10: From 10 to 11 a.m., the program "Transform Your Life from Existing to Living" will be offered at the center by Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County. The program will focus on whether negative influences are limiting joy and happiness and on how to recapture the inner child who wants to play, express and share with others.
Thursday, April 11: Dietician Holly Betts will conduct a cooking class at the center focused on easy, healthy cooking for singles or couples.
The class is scheduled form 3 to 4:30 p.m. and will prepare beef bourguignon and roasted fruit salad. Cost is $6.
Friday, April 12: The Westport Historical Society will be offering a guided tour of two current exhibits that showcase artifacts and collections. The tour is from 1:15 to 3 p.m. and will explore what life was like in the mid 19th century, plus the early beginnings of the historical house. Featured are early Westport documents, correspondence, photos and vintage clothing.
The tour includes a video that explains these items in greater detail and how the Bradley-Wheeler House and Carriage Barn is integral to the town's early roots.
