Are Christmas celebrations -- both religious and social -- keeping you busy enough?
If not, here's a few other things to do in Westport this weekend:
On Friday, find out why everyone's talking about the latest literary work by Dave Eggers, "Zeitoun," which has just been selected as the new book for the WestportREADS community reading project. For more information visit www.westportpubliclibrary.org.
Strap on skates Saturday and head to the Westport PAL ice rink at Longshore, 260 South Compo Road. Public skating starts at noon and runs until 7 p.m., with admission $10 for adults and $6.25 for those 12 and under. For more information call 203-226-7465 or check, http://www.wpalrink.com.
On Sunday, take a bracing hike at Sherwood Island State Park, located off the Sherwood Island connector. A hiking map of the recreation area's 235 acres can be found at www.ct.gov/dep.
Finish off the weekend with a "home-grown" dinner at the Dressing Room, 27 Powers Court, next to the Westport Playhouse. For more information and menus, visit www.dressingroomhomegrown.com.
