The harvest is rolling in.
Fresh evidence of late-summer's bounty of local vegetables, fruit, honey and juices was on display Sunday at the weekly farmers market hosted by Christie's Country Store.
The store has been a neighborhood institution on Cross Highway for nearly nine decades, and the addition of the weekly market with fresh fare has proved popular with regulars and first-timers alike.
On the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, among the participating vendors were Beldotti Brothers Bakery of South Norwalk, Smith Acres Farm of Niantic and Doris Hanley of Juice Plus.
The farmers market takes place Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Christie's Country Market, 161 Cross Highway. For more details, check http://bit.ly/SQ6tHa
