A documentary film about Westport in the 1950s will be screened at the Westport Historical Society on Friday, March 28, at noon as part of its lunchtime film series.

"The End of an Era: Westport in the '50s" will be shown at the society's 25 Avery Place headquarters. A discussion with Chuck Tannen, the producer and director, will follow the screening.Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch.

The society recommends a $5 donation.

The film includes interviews with six Westport residents who reminisce about the town in the middle of the 20th century and businesses that are gone. "I believe the biggest changes are in the people," Tannen said in a news release issued by the society. "It is no longer a small-town atmosphere, but much more cosmopolitan."
