Four Westport lawyers under 40 have been named to the Connecticut Law Tribune's roster of New Leaders in the Law.

They are among 60 Connecticut lawyers cited by the weekly publication from among 300 nominees, according to the Law Tribune.

The designation recognizes lawyers under 40 who have emerged as leaders in the practice of law in Connecticut, according to the Law Tribune's 2014 Leaders in the Law Yearbook.

Westport lawyers cited, their ages, firms and areas of practice are as follows:

Thomas E. Brennan, 39, partner at Halloran & Sage, commercial litigation.

Alexander J. Cuda, 35, partner at Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin, family law.

Jessica S. Esterkin, 32, senior associate at Broder & Orland, family law.

Lane Marmon, 31, senior associate at Rutkin, Oldham & Griffin, family law.

Selections are based on litigation success, promotions, pro bono work, achievement in non-litigation areas and other factors, according to the Tribune's New Leaders in the Law Yearbook.

The 60 lawyers were scheduled to be honored during a dinner in Hartford on Thursday, Nov. 6.
