An undercover operation to stop street-level prostitution resulted in the arrests of 18 people, according to a statement released Friday by the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The two-day sting was a joint effort by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Harris County Precinct 4 Constable, the statement said.

Christina Garza with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office says that the Nov. 13 operation was concentrated in the Cloverleaf area in east Harris County, just north of I-10.

Undercover female deputies took to the street to pose as prostitutes and undercover male deputies posed as men wanting pay for sex, according to the HCSO statement.
