The next time you open your door to carolers, there might be more than just a few voices -- try a large-scale chorus.
The Unitarian Church in Westport will lead an attempt to set a record in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most number of people singing Christmas carols at the same time, door to door, on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
Starting at Compo Beach in Westport, carolers will follow a predetermined, non-strenuous half-mile route through Westport as they pursue their goal.
More than 250 people are needed to participate to set a new record, which will be adjudicate by an representative of Guiness Book of World Records. To join the group, participants must register online.
The event, One Voice, will benefit the Lily Sarah Grace Fund, which supports arts education in underfunded elementary schools throughout the United States. The fund was established in honor of Lily, Sarah and Grace Badger, three young sisters who died in a Stamford house fire on Christmas last year.
