Things could get ... interesting ... in the next few days with weather forecasters keeping an eye on the weekend with the possibility of a major storm headed our way.

The National Weather Service's hazardous weather outlook issued this forecast Wednesday afternoon:

"A strengthening coastal low is expected to impact the area Saturday through early Sunday with widespread significant precipitation. Right now, the precipitation is forecast to be mainly rain at the coast and a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain inland. There is a possibility for significant snowfall accumulations across far interior zones.

"There is still quite a bit of uncertainty for this event though, and variations in track and magnitude will lead to changes in precipitation amounts and type."

In other words, the National Weather Service is saying, stay tuned, we could get smacked by another big storm. They're just not sure yet.
