WESTPORT -- One of two men suspected of an armed robbery at the TD Bank office on Post Road East was captured within a half-hour of the heist Wednesday afternoon, according to police dispatches.

The bank at 1111 Post Road East was held up shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The other suspect remained at large Wednesday evening.

A police bulletin immediately after the robbery described the two robbers, one of whom wore a mask while the other wore a bandana. They fled the scene in a black Nissan Versa hatchback, according to reports.

Police from Westport and Fairfield were searching for the other suspect in the area along the border between the towns at Westway and Greens Farms roads.

Some local roads were blocked off as police set up a perimeter for their search, assisted by police K-9 unit.
