The Westport Historical Society is offering three weeklong day camps suitable for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Camps are from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day. They include:

"Green Thumbs ... From the Ground Up, Aug. 8-12. The camp will focus on how things grow and include crafts, stories and drama, a visit to a local farm and preparing fresh, healthy snacks.

"Pirate Kings and Queens," Aug. 15-19. The camp will explore the roles of rivers and oceans, in fact and fantasy, and examine ecology and various aquatic treasures.

"All That Jazz ... From Debussy to Dub-Step," Aug. 22-26. Each day will explore a different music era, including Classical, Jazz, Latin, Rock n' Roll, Rap and Dub-Step with a guest performer workshop. Using recycled materials, campers will make a different instrument each day.

The programs will be held at the Westport Historical Society, 25 Avery Place. Cost is $250 per week, $225 for historical society members. To register, call 203-222-1424.
