Several students from Westport and Weston have joined the Teen Advisory Board to help raise funds for the Whittingham Cancer Center's Walk/Run on May 14 at Norwalk's Calf Pasture Beach.

They include Maeve Flaherty, Dave Katz and Joey Zelkowitz from Staples High School; Andrew Allison-Godfrey and Tristan Schietinger from Greens Farms Academy, and Weston High School student Alana Hassan.

Each year, the event, which includes prize drawings, kids' activities and entertainment, draws more than 2,500 Fairfield County residents who participate in a 3-K walk and 5-K run starting and ending at the beach. Registration begins at 10 a.m., with the walk/run starting at noon.

Residents can register and donate by visiting www.norwalkhospitalfoundation.org or calling 203-852-2216. Registration is $20 per person and includes a free t-shirt. There is no charge for children under 12. Additionally, the walk route will be lined with tribute flags that can be purchased for $100. Event sponsorship opportunities are available by calling 203-852-2959.
