Save the Children offers 'Gifts for Mom'

Westport-based Save the Children is selling an assortment of gifts for Mother's Day until early May through "Gifts for Mom" at savethechildren.org/giftsformom.
Gifts for sale include: Acholi beads bracelets from Uganda, $50 -- Bracelets made by displaced Ugandan women working towards independent success.
Newborn care packages, $30 -- Help provide three newborn care packages which may contain soap, a cloth to wrap the baby, a knit cap, guidance on breastfeeding and other counseling for newborns.
Educate a young girl, $65 -- Provides the essentials, including books and teacher training, to help a girl in the developing world attend and stay in school for an entire year. Statistics show that educated girls delay premature marriage and childbirth and provide better nutrition and education for themselves and their children later on.
Stock a library, $100 -- Makes a great gift for the mom who enjoys sharing her love of reading. Within many impoverished U.S. communities, libraries contain a limited selection. This will help ensure children have access to high learning potential books.
