The Sudan Canvas Project is appealing to artists to submit paintings depicting the women of Sudan for an art exhibit Nov. 27 at the Fairfield Arts Center, 70 Sanford St.
The paintings should express circumstances of the women, many of whom have been victims of decades of human-rights atrocities. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to Hope for Ariang for trade education for the women in south Sudan. For details on participating, visit www.thesudancanvasproject.org. Paintings for the November exhibit are due by Oct. 15.
The Sudan Canvas Project was founded by artist Cynthia Davis of Trumbull. Committee members include Jill Gordon, Wendy MacCordy, Linda Francis, all of Westport, Karen Crape of Fairfield and Caron Palder of Weston.
