More than 500 guests attended the festive Trees of Hope's Winter White gala at the River Oaks Country Club. Chaired this year by Carol Buckley and Michelle Stewart, the evening honored Robin and Danny Klaes and raised more than $838,000 for the Star of Hope.
During the silent and live auctions, pre-decorated trees and other luxury items were up for grabs to the highest bidder. Faith and Lee Majors took home two trees, Bruce Padilla and Blake Barber's "Champagne Dream" decorated with red Baccarat champagne flutes, as well as the "Sparkle and Shine" tree by Regina Gust Meanwhile, Joe Bullard beat out honorary chair Lynn Wyatt for the "Nordic Moose." Another big-ticket item, a trip to France, was sold to an absentee bidder for $55,000 - and honoree Robin Klaes left with artwork created by the children of the Star of Hope's Emergency Shelter.
After the buzzy auction and a seated dinner starring ancho-chili-glazed beef tenderloin, guests continued the party until midnight as model/DJ Don Vaughn kept the energy up on the dance floor.
