Woats

Nuts About Berries, Cookies 'n' Dreams and Peanut Butter Graham Slam are three new granola-type snacks on your grocer's shelves. Nuts About Berries pairs cranberries and praline pecans with honeyed oats. Cookies 'n' Dreams mixes oats with chocolate sandwich cookies, and the Peanut Butter Graham Slam tosses graham cracker and butter toffee peanuts. Woats snacks are not just snacks. The products have a story and were created to inspire kids and young adults to discover their passion. Log onto woats.com for the whole story or to order your Woats snacks. Buy it: $6 for a 10-ounce bag at woats.com.

Whatafries

It's a french fry; no, it's a potato chip. Whataburger introduces H-E-B Whatafries. A confused snack, Whatafries are cut from real potatoes and can be eaten directly from the bag. Or you can heat them and have Whataburger french fries at home. I liked them right out of the bag, as did most of the staff here (some sort of grumbled about wanting hot french fries). H-E-B has worked with Whataburger recently, marketing the fast-food chain's ketchup and mustard. Now the fries! I recommend these. Buy it: $2.50 for a 7.4-ounce bag H-E-B stores. Kind

Kind has added two flavors to its Nuts and Spices line of bars. Maple Glazed Pecan & Sea Salt offers a perfect combination of salty and sweet with 5g fiber; 6g protein and only 5g sugar. Dark Chocolate Chili Almond is a blend of nuts, chocolate and then a spicy touch of habanero chiles. 7g fiber; 6g protein and 5g sugar. Buy it: about $2 per bar at Starbucks, Kroger, H-E-B, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.

Pillsbury Premiums

A touch of nostalgia is mixed into Pillsbury cookie, cake and frosting mixes, with summertime flavors such as Creamsicles, Pink Lemonade and Key Lime. Perfect cool summer treats are now flavors of cookie and cake mixes. Pick up a few to have on hand so you can whip up a bite from the past whenever you feel like it. Buy them: $1.25-$2 at any store that sells Pillsbury products.

Kitchen Table Bakers

These salty- spicy crisps are made entirely of cheese, so they're wheat-free, sugar- free and gluten- free. But they are tasty, as cheese usually is. Buy them: $4.99 and $6.99 for a 3-ounce package; available at Central Market, Rice Epicurean Markets, Hubbell & Hudson and Spec's.

Superberries: Berries are known to be chock full of anti-oxidants and this little dark purple berry is no different. Aroniaberries are packaged fresh frozen, 32 oz for 24.95; for tarts and pies, as a juice concentrate, $29.95; and in 100 calorie chews, $19.95 for a package of 10. The berries are delicious and packed with nutrients, part of a healthy food plan. The products as well as recipes and more information about aroniaberries can be found at www.superberries.com.
