The Westport PAL 7 boys basketball team raised its record to 5-4 and won the Norwalk GBA Holiday tournament on Sunday with a 55-40 victory over Shelton at the Ben Franklin School in South Norwalk. Adam Friedman was the tournament leading-scorer and led Westport to victory with 18 points and three assists despite facing Shelton's box-and-one defense. Friedman attempted only nine shots for the game but made them count by drilling home six 3-pointers.

Dylan Dreyfuss was the floor general with eight points on two treys to go with five assists. Ryan Angerthal had eight points and two steals. Ryan Argerthal contributed eight points and two steals and Graham Gudis tallied seven points, including one 3-pointer. Noah Staffa (five points) also hit a 3-pointer.

Making their presence felt inside were Jackson Ward, Jared Vishno and John Fincher. Vishno had 12 rebounds, many from the offensive glass and was a bandit on defense with six steals. Ward blocked two shots to go with six points and eight rebounds. Fincher had five rebounds. Danny Brill and Conor Chamberlin played tenacious defense.
