Reminiscent of the "The Showtime" Lakers of the 80s, the Staples boys basketball team put on a clinic at Christian Heritage School on Sunday. Staples hustled, shot and passed well and played excellent defense in a 94-37 victory over Notre Dame of Fairfield in the DeSantis Summer Basketall League. The Summer Wreckers raised their record to 3-1. Notre Dame dropped to 2-2.

Incoming senior Danny Scanlon was lights out from the field for Staples and led the way with 25 points, including four 3-pointers. Everyone scored for the Summer Wreckers, who had a balanced attack with five players scoring in double figures.

Providing an inside presence for Staples was incoming senior Jake Felman (16 points), who hit a trey, was a force on the glass and drew two offensive fouls. Incoming senior captain Luke Yeager (15 points) deftly set up the offense and was on fire from the field. Yeager fueled the Summer Wrecker transition game and incoming lefty senior captain Gabe Seidman (13 points) canned two trifectas and hurt the Summer Lancers on both ends of the court. Incoming junior Mike Argosh (10 points) made his presence felt inside and hit a 3-pointer as well. Classmates Mike Garrity (seven points, one trey) and Patrick Coleman (four points) also contributed.
