After being mired in two straight losses, the Staples boys soccer team put it together on Wednesday and defeated Fairfield Ludlowe 3-0 at home. Staples raised its record to 2-2. Ludlowe dropped to 1-2-1.

Senior captain Brendan Lesch scored two goals for the Wreckers in the first half. Staples dominated play and outshot the Falcons 19-2 while enjoying an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks. In fact, the ball rarely got to the Wreckers' defensive side of the field. Senior captain Frankie Bergonzi scored for Staples in the second half.
