The Greens Farms Academy boys cross country team claimed its third straight FAA title at Waveny Park in New Canaan on Tuesday, handily beating out Hopkins, Brunswick, Rye Country Day, King and Masters School. Junior Captain Wills Rooneywon the race with a personal best time of 15:58. Fellow senior captains Evan Bieder (17:10) and Will McCarthy (17:11) placed seventh and eighth, respectively. Juniors Peter Maturo and Chris Tarika, sophomore Kenner Clark and junior Charlie Ross placed 13th, 14th, 15th and 17th respectively and achieved a pace of less than six minutes per mile.

The GFA girls cross country team placed fifth at the FAA League Championship race, outscoring Masters, Rye and King. Senior captain and Westporter Kaitlyn Morio (20:57) led the Dragons by placing sixth out of 55 girls. Fellow senior captain Becca Lavietes (21:52) grabbed 15th place and Westport sophomore Kate Mohr (22:33) achieved her personal best time and placed 21st.

GFA Coach Glen Colello said, "We achieved a lot of personal best times for the season. It is great to see the boys team defend their league title."
