  • The members of the band Gunsmoke will be busy this summer season, as the towns and cities across Fairfield County roll out summer concert series. The band members are, from left, drummer Gary Tokarz of Branford; electric guitarist Scott Tyler of Newington, acoustic guitarist Nick DeMaio Sr. of Darien, acoustic guitar, bassist Nick DeMaio III, Darien, and steel guitarist Jeff DeMaio of Darien, seated.
Like clockwork, Nick DeMaio knows that there will be a fan or two, and likely many more, who has waited all year to simply see him and his band mates perform at an outdoor summer concert.
“Some of these people will make every one of these concerts,” said DeMaio, 49, the bassist and lead singer for Gunsmoke, a Darien-based classic country band that has been performing in the area, and beyond, for about 22 years.
