Westport artist takes first place

Westport artist Beatrice delPerugia Crane-Baker won first place in a juried show recently at the Rowayton Arts Center in Rowayton.

The native of France garnered the award for "Le Rayon Vert," an abstract acrylic painting on canvas. She was one of 85 artists from the tri-state area who submitted entries for the contest.

Crane-Baker works in watercolor, acrylic, pastel, mixed media, print media and collage. She has won awards at the Rowayton Arts Center, the Silvermine Guild Art Center in New Canaan and in Florida.
