HARTFORD (AP) -- A former Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner asked to step down amid an allegation of inappropriate behavior has been hired by a Louisiana-based engineering and construction management firm.
A spokesman for The Shaw Group, Inc. tells The Day of New London in Friday's edition that the company has hired former DOT commissioner Joseph Marie to work out of its Boston office.
Marie was asked to resign in June by Gov. M. Jodi Rell after a female state employee accused him of inappropriate behavior. Marie has denied the allegations and says he was never given details about the accusation.
Before taking over the Connecticut's DOT, Marie had been overseeing a $5 billion investment in the public transit infrastructure in Phoenix.
