Bamp's Apple Crisp

n More than 60 years ago, Rebecca Felmer's grandfather, who she called "Bamp," developed this apple crisp recipe. "The whole family

loved it. Maybe some of your readers would,

too," wrote the Danbury resident.

Bamp's Apple Crisp

7 Granny Smith apples, pared and sliced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

� cup sugar (mixed, brown and white)

� teaspoon cinnamon

� cup sifted flour

� teaspoon salt

� cup margarine

Fill a shallow baking dish with the sliced apples. Sprinkle with lemon juice and � cup of sugar mixture. Mix cinnamon, flour and salt with the remaining sugar. Cut in margarine until mixture is granular. Spread over apples. Bake in a 350-degree oven for about 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Cool.
