While members of the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce (WWCC) have been taking notice of Lisa Thygerson's zest and vigor in revitalizing the chamber, so were the panel of decision makers at the Fairfield County Business Journal. The publication bestowed upon her the honor of being recognized as one of Fairfield County's "40 Under 40 Business Leaders" of 2010.

The competition recognizes 40 business professionals under the age of 40 for their exceptional leadership qualities, impact on their organizations, commitment to professional

development and personal achievements. This honor involves several area chambers of commerce nominating rising young executive managers in Fairfield County companies and nonprofits.

Prior to taking on the role as executive director of the WWCC, Thygerson utilized her skills in the beverage industry while working for Labatt USA as a junior financial analyst. Working closely with sales operations and field marketing teams, she maintained commercial spending budgets and provided monthly divisional reports and analysis on opportunities and trends.

In 2007, she transitioned into the private banking business, first as an associate at Commerce Bank, then as an assistant manager with TD Bank of Westport.

In addition to store management and private banking client relations, Thygerson took on the role of marketing and business/community relationships manager -- a position she found herself becoming immersed in and enjoying. This relationship with the community and growing its businesses made Thygerson a natural fit for the chamber as it sought to strengthen its presence in Westport.

Under her leadership, the chamber has experienced membership growth and created a more active role within the community. Thygerson is a 2001 graduate of Fairfield University, where she earned a bachelor's of science degree in marketing and management.
